Kandoo’s October Visit to China
As a family-owned business with long-standing relationships across our partner factories in China, we are uniquely positioned to help clients prevent risk before it happens. Our internal team on the ground oversees every stage of production, from sampling and compliance to quality control and shipment, ensuring that what’s promised is what’s delivered.
This October, members of our UK team travelled to China and Hong Kong to reconnect with our partners, explore the latest developments in sustainable materials, and strengthen the relationships that form the backbone of Kandoo’s global operations.
Sustainable Materials and Responsible Manufacturing Innovation
Sustainability sits at the heart of everything we do at Kandoo. From product development to material sourcing, we’re committed to finding creative, responsible solutions that enhance our clients’ products while protecting the planet. During our visit, we met with material suppliers and factory partners to review a range of recycled and bio-based fabrics that we regularly work with, including PVB, RPET, and several natural fibre alternatives such as coffee, pineapple, and corn-based materials. These conversations help us stay aligned with our partners, ensure consistent quality, and continue exploring responsible options that support our clients’ sustainability goals.
It was inspiring to see how sustainability and innovation continue to evolve in tandem, and how our Chinese partners are leading the way in integrating environmental responsibility into large-scale production. By working closely with these teams, we ensure every design decision supports a more ethical, transparent, and environmentally conscious supply chain.
Long-Term Relationships That Drive Quality and Reliability
We were also delighted to reconnect with Alan, Daisy, and Mr. Yang, who represent one of our oldest and most trusted manufacturing partnerships. Over a wonderful lunch, we reflected on years of shared projects, discussed future opportunities, and learned more about their exciting plans for a new factory development. It’s these enduring relationships, built on mutual respect and shared values, that allow us to maintain exceptional standards across every stage of production.
The Value of Trusted Factory Partnerships
Another highlight from the trip came during a visit to our metal factories, where the team explored new materials and discussed upcoming design innovations. Between technical meetings and material reviews, we even met the factory owner’s adorable baby grandson, a light-hearted reminder of the family spirit that runs through so many of our partnerships.
Connecting With Our Hong Kong and Shenzhen Teams
Our final stop took us to Hong Kong and Shenzhen, where our UK team met with Conair LLC to discuss upcoming projects and strengthen our collaboration for the year ahead. Later that day, we visited our Shenzhen office to catch up with our Kandoo colleagues based in China. Seeing first-hand the dedication, innovation, and craftsmanship driving our global operations was both inspiring and energising.
Reflecting on a Trip That Reinforces Kandoo’s Values and Vision
It’s been an incredible and productive trip, one that left us full of inspiration, confidence, and renewed commitment to the partnerships that make Kandoo what it is today. Our visits reminded us that supply chains are not just systems, they’re relationships. Every conversation, factory visit, and shared meal helps us ensure that our clients’ products are not only beautifully made, but responsibly sourced and ethically produced.
